Dear Abby

Dear Abby,

I am already working on my beach body for this summer and I have been doing some cardio by running on the treadmill. I have noticed the front part of my hip is hurting me when I run. What can I do to make it better?

Sincerely,

Teresa M.

Dear Teresa,

Thank you for reaching out! There are many people that experience this pain when running. Most of the time it is due to muscle tightness. Try stretching and warming up before you run. Another important thing is shoe wear, make sure they are fitting correctly for your body type and are not too old! If you are running regularly always check the condition of your shoes. If these few things do not help, come see us at Elite Physical Therapy for a full evaluation of your hip! Keep up the good work, you’ll be beach body ready in no time!
